Mr MOJO's Bullying Data

| 4/6/2011

Data Driven.  This is the “buzz word(s)” in education.  In order for teaching styles, remediation techniques, and AYP improvement strategies to be legitimate they must be data driven.  Unfamiliar with this terminology?  In essence, for schools to prove the effectiveness of educational strategies they must be able to support it with concrete data that shows student improvement.

As an anti-bullying speaker it is hard to come up with data driven statistics, without schools providing things like the number of fights before and after my talk, the number of social networking incidents before and after my talk, but I have been fortunate to have students give their own personal testimony on my Facebook page: www.facebook.com/mojoup

“Hi! I really appreciated that you came to Angola High School on Monday. It was very moving and made me realize I am a bystander much more than I want to be. Plus that no matter what people have said to me for how I am... I am the way I am and I will begin to work on becoming more proud of that factor. So thank you sooooo much for coming!” Madison Wells

“I loved your pep talk. made me wanna stop with the jokes that might hurt others, i even went up to the kid & said sorry during class :)” Priscilla Zamora

“You helped me remember that i didn't have to put up with being bullied anymore and when my self esteem is low again because of it, i'll remember that i'm worth something more that what i know. Thank you again.”  Liberty Little

“Your speech was amazing it really touched me!” Miranda Bankson

“Thank you Mr. Mojo for coming to our school and making it a better place! All the kids at school are now saying Mojo Up everyday!” Davey Medlin

“Mr. MOJO, I hope you have the best of luck at what you do. What this world needs is more people like you.” Cody Mayo

“Thank you for coming to highland today! Your speech has inspired me to become a better person. My Mojo is up :)”  Kaylee Jane

In my mind this is the kind of data that shows students need to hear my message.  Each time I read posts like the ones above I am reassured that my mission is one of value and is affecting the lives of students in a positive way.  Join me on the perpetual No Bullying Tour to change the world 1 Teenager at a Time!
